MiniTrial is an initiative from Scottish Lawyers to help schools find out more about the Scottish legal system through simulated court cases
What is a MiniTrial?
Started by Hon. Lord Kinclaven in 2002, MiniTrials are simulated court cases designed to be conducted by secondary school pupils. Students take part in a reconstruction of a criminal jury trial. They convene the court, hear the evidence and return their own verdict – with the help of lawyer volunteers. MiniTrial is also available for primary school pupils, and we run inter-school events.
